Trevor and Interloper

One thing is certain in life and that is the fact that not everyone has the same taste.  Some people like avocados and others hate them.  It doesn’t mean that the person who discovered, planted, watered, nurtured and enjoyed the avacado has been mistaken about the value of its’ wonderful health qualities, unique flavor and the joy of it’s smooth, warm texture melting in their mouth.  The fact that not everyone loves the avacado shouldn’t make the avocado lovers question the worth of the fruit itself and especially not their own worth as a contributing human being.

It is the same with a novel.  Not everyone likes fantasy or science fiction.  It doesn’t make them bad as a person or the genre unpopular to much of the world’s readers.  It just highlights the differences in taste!  Besides, my father always says, “Everyone is entitled to their own stupid opinion.”
