After sending out about 20 books for review (at a modest expense) in May, preparing for a September OPD (Official Publication Date), I was informed that I needed to write “Galley” or “Review Copy” on the books themselves.  One source said that they wouldn’t even look at it if it appeared to be a finished book.  This may or may not be true, but here I am, August 31st and I haven’t heard back from any of them.

Now this may seem disappointing to some, but to me…my mother taught me that you pay for your education one way or another.  I just payed for one.  I learned something and will not make the same mistake twice.

I plan to set my OPD back to December; use the time to build a marketing platform and send out a bunch more copies to reputable review houses in search for one good, juicy review that I can print on the cover when I launch in December.  I have a lot of wonderful reviews already, it’s just that I would like one from a big name reviewer.
